This park, just off route 1, is on the site of an 18th century grist mill. On one side of the road are the old buildings from the 1700s. On the other side with the parking lot there are woods, and a system of old canals that carried the water to the mill and are now being expanded to include a wetlands area.
To access the mill and buildings (and the restroom) park in the first parking lot. Just through this lot is a second lot (and still close to the restroom!) From here, is a well maintained dirt path providing easy access to the woods, the wetland area, and the dam. (There are also numerous other trails if you want a long hike!)
We’ve had several good recommendations for Newlin Mill! As always, please let us know if you’re coming:
