Paulette Staley – Guest Speaker at PPS Spring Members Meeting

Paulette Staley is an award winning artist and plein air painter who has been drawing, painting, and creating for as long as she can remember. She studied graphic design at the Art Institute of Philadelphia.  Paulette studied soft pastel painting with Teresa DeSeve, Tony Allain and Lyn Asselta. She is a member of the Philadelphia Pastel Society and a Signature Member of the Philadelphia Watercolor Society. She has participated in the popular Wayne Art Center’s Juried Plein Air Festival.

Paulette is an active participant in Plein Air paint-outs, workshops, and painting retreats, and continually seeks to improve her skills and explore new techniques. Currently, she’s working on commissions for a variety of subjects, using materials such as pastels, oil, watercolors, and a variety of inks and mixed media. Paulette has painted murals in multiple homes and businesses, including one in Panama.

Her artwork is inspired by a variety of subjects, including people, babies, pets, landscapes, cityscapes, beaches, and National Park vistas. With a diverse range of subject matter and materials, her portfolio is both captivating and versatile.

Paulette will demonstrate a pastel painting of a scene from a national park, and will begin with an underpainting using inks and alcohol.
