Doug has studied extensively with Master Pastelist Albert Handell and has received numerous awards in several national juried exhibitions. Doug and his wife take extended trip to the western national Parks where he paints and offers Plein Air Workshops.  His pastel paintings and his travels out west were featured in the Pastel Journal article, “Painting the National Parks.”  He is Signature Member of the Pastel Societies of New York and the West Coast.
