On January 16 we are presenting an exciting online demo from Stan Sperlak. Stan will demonstrate while explaining his pastel technique and offer a question and answer period for all attendees. Stan was our judge of awards for our Online Members Exhibit. He offers his own workshops as well as workshops from other well-known pastelists through his studio/gallery in Goshen, New Jersey.
Stan Sperlak is a regionally and nationally respected pastel painter known for his dramatic landscape paintings of the sea, marshes and sky. Stan studied painting and drawing at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia and with Pat Witt at the Barn Studio of Art in Millville, NJ. His works have appeared in numerous magazines and books on painting. Stan is a featured artist in the December, 2020 issue of Pastel Journal.
Stan is a Signature member of the Pastel Society of America, a Master Circle pastelist with the International Association of Pastel Societies, and also a Signature member of the Maryland Pastel Society. He is the past Director of the Mid Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association. He has taught workshops across the country and at his studio located on a 37-acre farm in Goshen, NJ.
